Kybele Studio founder Romina Özel shared with Forbes that we should also give ourselves permission to play with color. She's a big fan of pairing out-of-the-box shades together. "This summer, I think it resonates even more because people are genuinely craving joy and self-expression," she shared. "A single bold combination can completely shift how you feel when you walk out the door. That's the power of color done right." Colorful jewelry also pairs well with the 2026 summer fashion trends that look so chic on women over 50.

It's clear that people didn't come to play in 2026 when it comes to their jewelry selections. Aside from a massive shift toward breaking outdated styling rules and focusing on more individual personality, it's also become obvious that "occasion" jewelry-dressing is a thing of the past. Formerly, you had your daytime pieces that may be more work-appropriate and your evening jewelry reserved for dinners and going out. Stylist Jessica Minkoff told InStyle that she's noticing another emerging pattern: "What's appropriate for day versus night attire continues to blur, and with that comes the idea of daytime diamonds," she explained. "Bling is no longer solely for after hours."

In addition to "daytime diamonds," Minkoff also added that this year, more is more in general which is certainly in alignment with the overall theme. Even oversized bangles in different colors, prints, and styles are no longer just reserved for nighttime events.
