Nobody has more fun with their kids than Shawn Johnson East. The Olympic gold medalist shares three children with her former NFL player husband, Andrew East: Drew, born in 2019, Jett, born in 2021, and Barrett, born in 2023. From going on family vacations to Disney World to playing together at home, the family of five always seems to be smiling together.

Shawn Johnson East has admitted that marriage isn't easy, and she feels the same way about parenting. In fact, Shawn and her husband have decided to stop at three kids. She told NBC Insider in March 2024, "You can't just train kids into perfection. ... So, the perfectionist side of me had to turn off to allow for flexibility and creativity and failure." But it's definitely been worth it. She added, "Seeing these little kids turn into their own person is the most special thing of all. And my job as a parent is to help foster that, whatever that is."

Her adventurous kids certainly keep Shawn on her toes, whether they are attempting to do handstands on the Empire State building or jumping on the trampoline with their mom. Unlike other former Olympic gymnasts who look totally different years later, Shawn is nearly just as athletic as she was at the 2008 games — which is helpful for keeping up with her children. And she has shared many sweet pictures and videos with her three kids over the years that are simply adorable.

Shawn Johnson East and Andrew East's kids seemingly had a blast during a beach vacation at Salterra Resort in South Caicos. She uploaded photos of their trip to Instagram in February 2026, including one where the family poses in front a swimming pool together, about to jump in, and another in front of a gorgeous ocean and sandy beach. "One of our very favorite trips we've taken as a family," Shawn wrote in the caption.

Before heading out for a magical day at Disney World, Shawn Johnson East posed for a photo with husband Andrew East and their three kids. In a post uploaded to Instagram in October 2025, the kids all wore their favorite Disney character shirts before going to the parks — with Drew in Minnie Mouse, Jett in Spider-Man, and Barrett in Lightning McQueen. "The most perfect fall break full of many giggles, filled hearts, tired feet, and the happiest memories!" Shawn wrote in the caption.

As a big sports family, Shawn Johnson East and Andrew East are doing their best to introduce their kids to all different kinds. They brought their three kids to a Vanderbilt women's basketball game in Nashville in March 2026. In a photo on Instagram, Shawn holds Barrett and smiles next to her husband and their older kids, Drew and Jett. They all looked excited to be there, with Shawn and the kids in the team's black and gold, Jett in a Vanderbilt Commodores T-shirt, and Drew with her face painted.

Playtime is the best time for Shawn Johnson East, and she prioritizes hands-on time with her children. She shared a memorable quote in an April 2026 Instagram video: "You can watch your kids be kids, or be a kid with your kids." 

She wrote in the caption, "We've been trying to choose the second one." It's clear the family has a great time together, and Shawn's kids have the added bonus of getting to share the monkey bars with an Olympic gymnast!

Shawn Johnson East's son Barrett might have a future in race car driving! Andrew East shared a video on Instagram of their toddler driving a tiny red race car with Shawn crouched on the back to help him steer (and brake when necessary), and they both had the biggest smiles on their faces.

 "Both out here living their best lives," Andrew captioned the adorable video. Shawn is just a fun mom, and it's clear she loves every minute with her kiddos. 

Shawn Johnson East took her kids to the lake on the Fourth of July in 2026, and she shared a sweet moment with her youngest while out on the water. In a video uploaded to Instagram at the time, Barrett wore a red lifejacket as he sat on his mom's lap. 

The cute kiddo grabbed her face with both hands and gave her two big kisses one after another, making her laugh. "What a smooch!!" Shawn captioned the video. "Hahahaha this guy came outta nowhere!!"

Shawn Johnson East may have won a silver medal for her gymnastics floor routine at the Olympics in 2008, but now, she's just jumping for fun. 

She shared a video on Instagram in April 2026, which started with a throwback of her floor routine at the summer games, compared to how she used the same skills to impress her sons, Jett and Barrett, on the trampoline at home. "Same jump, new goals," Shawn quipped in the caption.

During a June 2026 visit to the Empire State Building, Shawn Johnson East, Andrew East, and their three kids had a great time raising their hands in the air on the outside viewing area. 

While smiling and posing for a video, uploaded to Instagram by Andrew, Barrett surprised his mom by attempting to do a handstand in front of the whole family. The gymnastics genes are certainly strong in this kid! "Little man was pumped to show off his 'handstand,'" Andrew wrote in the caption.
