Olympic gold medalist Shawn Johnson and former NFL star Andrew East revealed that they are done having kids. The duo has been married for 10 years and share daughter Drew, and sons Jett and Bear. In 2025, Johnson told People, "Our family, I think, feels very complete." On a similar note, East shared that he loves being a father, but is pretty content with their three kids. "Having little kids is so fun, but I think we're done," he added.

The pro athletes recently released a book, "The Courage to Commit: Embrace the Radical Power of Sticking with Something," together. The published work encourages readers to stick by their choices and resist the urge to give up on their goals and relationships because of challenges or the illusion of options, a mentality Johnson and East practice themselves, and which has influenced their decision to not have more children. "I got really tired of all these movies portraying romance as a fairy tale that's so easy, and people thinking that if theirs wasn't easy, it was wrong," Johnson shared with People, reflecting on her experiences with miscarriages and postpartum depression. "It's such an emotional rollercoaster. I struggled after my third."

Shawn Johnson and Andrew East went to therapy after welcoming their first child

Shawn Johnson and Andrew East have a pretty successful podcast called "Couple Things," but what many fans may not know is the show was at the center of a storm in the couple's relationship. The timing of the podcast's launch coincided with Johnson's first postpartum journey, which caused a lot of stress. "I got pregnant with our first child, our daughter Drew, and seven days after I gave birth, he started the podcast. He launched it," the mom-of-three said during their 2026 appearance on "The Bossticks" podcast.

She reflected on how her husband's "crazy" decision to plan and launch a whole podcast for them on his own, at such a chaotic time, really upset her. "This probably sent us into therapy," she added. In response, East bashfully admitted, "Mistakes were made." Despite the production's rocky start and impact on her marriage, Johnson admits that she now enjoys doing "Couple Things" because they get to talk about relationships and have great conversations with different people, even if it's a lot to manage with her three kids. Considering how much they're juggling, it's no wonder they aren't looking to add any more family members.

Shawn Johnson is one of many celebrity women to get candid about pregnancy and motherhood, which is refreshing — Hayden Panettiere was honest about her sad postpartum journey and Jennifer Garner won't apologize for balancing "selfish" acting career and motherhood.
