Founder of The GelBottle Inc., Daisy Kalnina, told Who What Wear, "Pistachio greens were also a summer hit, but August will see sweet pastels translate into muted olive and moss tones. Olive feels grounded and neutral while still offering a subtle pop of [color], making it the ultimate transitional shade for early autumn."

This soft hue is perfect for complementing rich burgundy sweaters and chocolate brown accessories that'll eventually find themselves out of your closet. You can go minimalist with an all-over color, or try doing a funky French tip for fun. Olive comes in a variety of shades — you can go with a soft jade green if you have light skin or a deeper hunter green for dark-skinned gals.

Along with muted shades, tomato red has a spot on our must-haves for summer-to-fall manicures. Red nails are the ultimate power look, and the fiery, yet slightly warm shade looks good on everyone. "Tomato red nails are warm and bright, and convey the fresh juiciness of a ripe summer tomato. Where classic reds tend to lean more cool-based, tomato red is a true warm tone with a more orange undertone rather than blue," Jack Harper of the nail polish brand Mylee shared with Elle. He added, "It suits warm complexions especially, but it's generally flattering for everyone because that orange undertone stops it from looking harsh against cooler skin tones."

If you love a red mani, you can go with tomato red while it's still summer and then lean cooler for the fall. Once September hits, try bright cherry reds, which have a hint of purple. Manicurist Stephanie Staunton shared with TZR, "While an earthy brown isn't exactly original this time of year, using different topcoats or trendy placements can add a spin that feels modern and new."
