What '80s Star Diane Franklin Looks Like Without Her Signature Curls
As seen in cult films like "Better Off Dead" and "Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure," actor Diane Franklin was best known for rocking a hip curly hairstyle that everyone had in the '80s, whether it was spotted under a beret or completely let loose. In the years since, Franklin has still been seen sporting her signature style onscreen and in public, whether it be on her social media, during convention appearances, or in infrequent film and TV roles. However, the actor also changes things up from time to time. Notably, she shed her famous curls in favor of long, loosely waved hair in 2025.
Franklin departed from her go-to look in the September Facebook photo, appearing without her usual ringlets. We can confirm the look rocked as hard as the Wyld Stallyns, and warrants an epic air guitar solo in its honor. Her wavy locks draped past her shoulders, nearly reaching her biceps. Like other celebs in their 60s who look stunning without makeup and aren't afraid to show it, Franklin opted for a natural look. Her natural dazzling complexion was further illuminated by her bright white blazer. Though some '80s heads may not immediately recognize her with straighter hair, such photos prove Franklin is gorgeous, regardless of if she's wearing curls or not.
Diane Franklin quickly brought back her curls after her 2025 post
Although Diane Franklin rocked curly hair in her most famous movies, including "Amityville II: The Possession" or "The Last American Virgin," the 2025 Facebook photo wasn't the first time she ditched her go-to style. She has, on occasion, treated fans to alternate, straightened 'dos, whether that be in certain roles or in real life. While some celebs rarely let their curly natural hair out to play, Franklin looks gorgeous with her curls, too, so we were relieved to see that she returned to her signature style after sharing the September social media post.
In August 2026, Franklin shared a photo on her Instagram confirming that her curly locks are still intact. Pictured alongside her daughter Olivia DeLaurentis, Franklin stood confidently wearing a swimsuit, looking as beautiful as ever. She teased a future collaboration with her daughter, who clearly inherited her mom's good looks. "Fun mom and daughter @ocdelaurentis SURPRISE coming soon!" she wrote in the caption. Her hair, yet again, was the star of the show, with her curls reaching her chest. Although her straighter hair was seemingly short-lived, Franklin has shown she's capable of both testing out different looks and rocking classic styles with ease. Though we'd be content regardless of her style choice, perhaps she'll treat her audience to another hair change-up in the near future.
