Bindi Irwin's Childhood Photos Next To Her Daughter Grace Will Have You Seeing Double

Bindi Irwin's complete transformation includes the birth of her daughter, Grace Irwin Powell, and a recent Instagram throwback photo dump has us thinking, "Crikey! Like mother, like daughter." Terri Irwin (Bindi's mother) shared a carousel of pictures in August 2026 that was a trip down memory lane for the Irwin family. One pic in particular (a black-and-white shot of 9-year-old Bindi after winning Best New Television Female Talent Host at the 2008 Logies) caught our eye because of how young Bindi is practically a mirror image of her daughter Grace.

From their similar face shape, soft and rounded with adorably full cheeks, to their identical button noses, Grace is the spitting image of her mama. In many photos shared over the years since her birth in 2021, the now-5-year-old has the same, wide, lively smile we've seen from Bindi since we met her on "Bindi the Jungle Girl" in 2007. Then again, that might just be an Irwin trait.

As the youngest Irwin continues to grow, the resemblance to her mother is only becoming more uncanny. On Grace's fifth birthday (a day that has extra significance for Bindi Irwin and her husband Chandler Powell), Bindi shared a photo carousel on Instagram with adorable shots of her with her daughter. In one, Grace smiles triumphantly behind her animal-themed birthday cake, and another pic shows Bindi and Grace sharing an adorable cuddle moment. The mother-daughter duo sported long brunette hair, and their matching tresses and joyful smiles are a testament to just how strong the Irwin genes are.

Grace Irwin Powell doesn't just look like Bindi Irwin, she acts like her too

Even at the tender age of five, Grace Irwin Powell, Bindi Irwin's "free-range child," shares a lot of her mother's personality traits as well. For one, Grace is developing a love and respect for animals, which is something viewers watched Bindi display alongside her father Steve Irwin. Bindi has repeatedly shared videos of Grace at the Australia Zoo, feeding, playing, and tending to the animals. One Instagram reel showed Grace playing with an echidna named Bella, who seems to adore the little girl. "I've never seen an echidna love someone so much," Bindi said in the caption. Terri Irwin backed the sentiment, writing of her granddaughter, "In the 33 years I've worked with echidnas, I've never seen one love somebody this much. Grace is such a special little soul."

That sweet soul is balanced with a spunky spirit, just like her mother. At 17, Bindi competed on (and won) "Dancing With the Stars," and a decade later, her younger brother Robert Irwin followed the same path. During the season, got a surprise visit from his niece, and let's just say there may be a third Irwin competing for the Len Goodman Mirrorball Trophy in the future. In a sparkly, emerald green dress, Grace ran right into the rehearsal room, and instead of a hug, she chose to show her uncle how well her dress twirled, only stopping to see the photo of her mom's winning moment. It's the same excitement and curiosity that made Bindi such a beloved personality, and it seems like Grace is following in her footsteps.
