Mini Modern Family Reunion Proves Sofía Vergara & Julie Bowen Are Aging Like Fine Wine

"Modern Family" gave us 11 years of hilarious hijinks, with Sofía Vergara and Julie Bowen as the female adult leads whose rivalry made the show even funnier. In real life, however, the two are great friends, and an Instagram carousel posted by Vergara showed just how close they still are. "With my American family!!! I can't believe it's been 6 yrs since the Modern Family finale!!! I miss u guys!!!" the "America's Got Talent" judge wrote. The third pic showed a close-up of Bowen and Vergara enjoying some food and drinks, and they looked just as youthful as ever. They both perfected the soft glam look with just a hint of smoky eyes and minimal foundation that showed off their perfect skin.

It's amazing how they haven't aged since the series ended in 2020, and although the actors share the same radiant glow, their take on beauty is so different. "Latina women have a deep love for beauty and take pride in presenting their best selves. Growing up, my mom and the other women in my life treated beauty with intention and care, which inspired me to do the same," Vergara told New Beauty in March 2026. Meanwhile, Bowen shared with ABC News in 2014, "If I don't have my feet on the ground the minute the alarm clock goes off, we're already running late, and sometimes I hit snooze. So in the morning, it's just a rinse, slap on the day cream, and get the sunscreen." Since befriending her "Modern Family" castmate, however, Bowen has learned to up her beauty game, and with Vergara's help, she has rocked several red carpet looks.

Sofía Vergara encourages Julie Bowen to step up her makeup

It's always great to have that friend who tells us when we need to touch up our makeup, and Sofía Vergara is just that to Julie Bowen, who has had a stunning style transformation. In an interview with New Beauty in 2014, the mom of three revealed, "She doesn't go out without putting on lipstick, and she is the first person to say to me: 'Where is your lipstick? Put it on!' She's always at award shows telling me that, and I always feel so weird, like someone will think I'm trying too hard. She tells me all the time, 'Who cares?'"

Vergara's unapologetic approach to feeling confident in one's skin is pretty refreshing, with her telling Pop Sugar in 2025, "Beauty has evolved so much over time, and it's no longer about fitting a mold or a standard; it's about feeling confident, empowered, and authentic — whatever that means to you." We're inspired by Vergara's idea of beauty: it's about loving yourself, not about doing what others expect from you. That doesn't mean the actor doesn't worry about fine lines and wrinkles, as she's in her early 50s and that's the age your face changes the most, according to science. Vergara admitted, "Aging can be intimidating. When I look in the mirror, I sometimes have to remind myself that this is a new version of me. And yet, aging is beautiful and powerful; it's not something to fight, but something to embrace fully."
