Leave it to Sandra Bullock's tween daughter to bring some humor to her dating life. The Oscar-winning screen star opened up about the dating advice she received from her daughter Laila Bullock when appearing on the "Not Gonna Lie with Kylie Kelce" podcast in September 2026. "She said I needed to date, but only someone where they can get stuff," Bullock said, before revealing the types of men Laila thinks would be a good match for her famous mom. "So I said, 'What? A rapper? A basketball player? That's the parameters?' ... She's like, 'Yeah.'"

The "Practical Magic 2" star has been raising her children, son Louis Bardo Bullock, and daughter Laila, largely on her own following her partner Bryan Randall's passing in August 2023 following his private battle with ALS. Her dedication to motherhood even saw Sandra Bullock return to acting with a sharp rebuke to workplaces that aren't parent-friendly. Through it all, Bullock has embraced her children for exactly who they are, even when feeling stretched by motherhood. "I just lean into who they are ... I meet them exactly where they are," Bullock said. "I'm getting something amazing, even though I'm crying on the inside."

Sandra Bullock has high hopes for her daughter's future

Sandra Bullock can't help but be amused by her daughter Laila Bullock's outspoken personality, so much so that she's already confident her tween could one day become the leader of the free world. Bullock declared it was "just a fact" that Laila "is going to be president of the United States!" (via People). Sandra Bullock, whose look stunned at the "Practical Magic 2" premiere, has high hopes for how she might one day put her own stylish spin on the Oval Office, further emphasizing her confidence in her daughter's potential future gig at the White House. The "Miss Congeniality" star jokingly expressed her excitement, saying, "I'm going to be doing some redecorating!"

The pride Bullock takes in her daughter's bold personality may come from seeing so much of herself in Laila. From when Sandra Bullock reemerged for CinemaCon 2026 looking fab to defending the rise of artificial intelligence in Hollywood (per CNBC), the screen star has never been one to shy away from speaking her mind and looking good while doing it. During her appearance on "Not Gonna Lie with Kylie Kelce," the "Speed" star joked that she was getting the karma her mother warned her about if she ever had a daughter. "I was very defiant ... I talked back and, you know, my daughter does the things I thought about," Bullock said, before defending Laila's outspoken nature. "This young soul is one of the bravest people I've ever met, not because she's willing to defy me, but because she really has no fear — athletically, in her voice, in her telling somebody what she thinks," she said.
