TLC Star Jasmine Pineda's Alopecia Led To A Bold And 'Liberating' Beauty Choice
If you're a fan of "90 Day Fiancé" on TLC, then you're most likely familiar with one of its most prominent stars, Jasmine Pineda. Although Pineda's time on the show was often turbulent, the reality star is nothing if not honest about her journey — on and off screen. What we love most though, is her willingness to talk about her alopecia diagnosis. A hair journey is extremely personal, but Pineda bravely shared hers on social media in 2023 in an emotional Instagram post. In addition to that, she made an extremely bold beauty choice that we applaud her for. In a liberating turn of events, the reality star decided to shave her head, and she looks just as gorgeous as ever.
In her Instagram post, she said, "This journey has not been an easy one for me. In my culture, our hair is like our crown; it's part of my identity. If you're struggling with it, know that you're not alone. Our hair is just hair (I know this is very hard to believe when you suffer from this condition) but don't let it define you!" Since shaving her head, Pineda's hair looks have been totally next level.

Jasmine Pineda shared with Parade Magazine around the time of her diagnosis in 2023 that she would be doing something different. "It is part of the new USA Jasmine and, well, you're going to see part of my journey with alopecia," she shared. "I'm going to be more open [about] myself ... about this [issue] that is very sensitive and which I'm very self-conscious about. The goal for the reality star, though, was to uplift and support others on the journey. "I'm going to do it with the hopes that a lot of people can identify. There is nothing wrong and hair doesn't define us," she continued.
Pineda's boldest beauty move yet was shaving her head, but we love that she also isn't afraid to do something fun and switch up her hair looks too. Since her diagnosis, the TLC star rocks various wigs and often shares photos of herself wearing them on her Instagram page. We've spotted her sporting a gorgeous chic bob (a short haircut trend everyone will be asking for in fall 2026). She's even tried out a black bob with bangs and the look really suits her. Other times, she decides to go in a different direction completely and wear a wig with long layers and blond highlights. It's so inspiring to see her embrace her diagnosis and move forward with such a positive energy.
