Longtime "Bridgerton" fans and newcomers to the franchise alike loved "Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Series." The beloved spin-off miniseries debuted on Netflix in 2023, chronicling the beginning of Queen Charlotte's marriage to King George III. Given the show's historical setting, the entire cast had to entirely transform for their roles. Like the "Bridgerton" stars who look totally different in real life, some of the leading ladies of the "Queen Charlotte" miniseries are unrecognizable off-set. In fact, their transformation into their respective characters was celebrated by fans even before the series aired. Reddit viewers pointed out just how perfect the casting was — posting side-by-side comparisons of the actors portraying the younger and older versions of characters like Queen Charlotte and Lady Danbury to show just how alike the performers looked.

The newcomers to the franchise quickly proved that resembling their characters' older selves wasn't the only thing they brought to the table. The series and its cast have been nominated for numerous accolades, with Queen Charlotte's actor India Amarteifio even winning the award for outstanding actress in a drama series at the 2024 NAACP Image Awards. Still, the talented leading ladies of the fan-favorite miniseries have slipped right into their Regency-era costumes, which are worlds away from their real-life rotations and beauty choices. While we've delved into the ladies of "Bridgerton" and their real-life partners, we're now taking a look at the real-life appearances of the "Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story" cast.

India Amarteifio stuns both as young Queen Charlotte and off-screen

As the titular character of "Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story," India Amarteifio had big shoes to fill. Golda Rosheuvel originated the role of Queen Charlotte in the original "Bridgerton" series, quickly becoming beloved by viewers for her snarky quips and series of increasingly elaborate wigs. Portraying the younger version of the iconic character was no small task, even without the maximalist styling, but one that Amarteifio embraced wholeheartedly. Her performance as a newly married Queen Charlotte dealing with the challenges that come with being a leader was celebrated by fans and critics alike, and marked by opulent regal costumes and dazzling jewels.

In real life, Amarteifio looks quite different from her "Queen Charlotte" self. Sans her ornate gowns, eye-catching accessories, and voluminous 19th-century hair, Amarteifio is incredibly modern and stylish. She typically keeps her makeup minimal, allowing her flawless skin to shine through. At the premiere of "Clarissa" in October 2026, Amarteifio pulled her dark hair into a low ponytail — a much more toned-down choice than anything Queen Charlotte would choose.

Arsema Thomas was a fan-favorite for her transformation into Lady Agatha Danbury

The dynamic between Queen Charlotte and the opulently dressed Lady Danbury is a fan-favorite for a reason. While Golda Rosheuvel and Adjoa Andoh portray the two fiercely influential women in "Bridgerton," India Amarteifio and Arsema Thomas got to showcase how they became friends in "Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story." As the young Lady Danbury, Thomas was able to illustrate how the character's troubling marriage and rocky social standing impacted her later development. They also got to wear the character's signature hats and other stunning Regency-era accessories.

In real life, Thomas is just as stunning as their "Queen Charlotte" counterpart — albeit without the 19th-century gowns and stylish hats. Thomas typically styles their hair in long braids, matching with their earthy aesthetic; while attending a screening of the film "Fall 2" in September 2026, Thomas donned a yellow-and-green maxi dress, gold teardrop earrings, and silver ear cuffs. This look encompassed Thomas' style philosophy, which is one that embraces boho-chic silhouettes and muted colors.

We loved to hate Michelle Fairley as the well-dressed Princess Augusta

Michelle Fairley is an industry veteran. From "Game of Thrones" to "Gangs of London," the accomplished actor has owned every performance thus far. The same is true of her role in "Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story," where Fairley portrayed Princess Augusta, who was King George III's mother. As Queen Charlotte's contentious yet well-dressed mother-in-law, Augusta often served as an antagonistic force throughout the miniseries. However, the royal is revealed to be more complex than she initially seems behind all those lavish dresses and tiaras.

While Fairley keeps off social media and seldom attends red carpet events, we can look back at photos of her from her "Game of Thrones" days to compare against her character in "Queen Charlotte." Unlike Princess Augusta's over-the-top 19th-century updos and fancy gowns (which provide ample inspiration for the royally fun Regencycore fashion trend), Fairley's style is much more low-key in real life. Her dark hair is kept around her shoulders instead of above them, and she keeps her accessorizing minimalistic (no extravagant royal diamond necklaces here).

Connie Jenkins-Greig charmed audiences as young Violet Bridgerton

Given how charming Connie Jenkins-Greig was as the young but immaculately styled Violet Bridgerton in "Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story," it's no surprise that the character is slated to get her own spin-off. While Jenkins-Greig has not yet been announced to join the cast as of October 2026, her performance as a teenaged Violet, whose wardrobe is less matronly but just as fabulous as her older counterpart's, stands on its own regardless.

Unlike her period character, Jenkins-Greig embraces an edgier style. At the Vanity Fair BAFTA Rising Star Party in January 2024, the English-born actor appeared on the red carpet in epic fashion. She donned a black lace-trimmed gown, long opera gloves, and voluminous brown waves (more mature than Violet's girlish ringlets). Her makeup even takes on a more dramatic vibe in real life, as Jenkins-Greig has been pictured in a bold red lip that complements her pale complexion.
