Erin Napier's Best And Worst Looks Since Her HGTV Debut In 2016
HGTV star Erin Napier has had a head-turning transformation over the years. As the co-host of "Home Town" on the network with her husband Ben Napier, she has become synonymous with down-to-earth fashion, often opting for styles that you'd find at your local department store. This is sometimes a good thing, with Napier's fashion leaning toward casual and functional, and deeply tied to her Southern aesthetic. However, it also means that she's had some style misses over the years. Don't get us wrong, we love that the HGTV host prioritizes comfort over trend-chasing, but some of her outfits since she stepped onto the scene could have used an extra eye.
Napier has admitted on Instagram that fashion isn't always her forte. She even went as far as to say that her and husband Ben "aren't red carpet people" and that's ok! Some of her looks have been great anyway. However, we can think of a few instances where simple things like a change of shoes or a swapped pair of shorts would have made her outfit so much better. These are some of Erin Napier's best and worst fashion moments since her 2016 HGTV debut.
Worst: Erin Napier's long-sleeved boho dress leaned frumpy
If you're a fan of HGTV's "Home Town," then you've probably gotten a taste of Erin Napier's casual boho style. The host is definitely a fan of dresses like this, but this one missed the mark for us. The design is overly busy — from the paisley sleeves to the floral print and polka dots. This look would have been more successful if the dress were just one print. Plus, the sleeves and overall length of the dress make Napier appear a bit frumpy. Not her most flattering look.
Best: Erin Napier was a dream in floral at the 2022 CMAs
This floral number Erin Napier wore to the 2022 CMA Awards also had a lot going on, but it worked better. Napier shared on Instagram that her style icon Drew Barrymore helped her find this stunning dress. "I looked up to her for so many years," she explained. "I nervously reached out to her to ask: where do I begin to find a dress? ... Drew asked [fashion brand Marchesa] to help me, and help they did."
Worst: Erin Napier's peasant blouse and green shorts didn't flatter her
While this look is certainly on brand with Erin Napier's unique boho style, it just didn't work in our books. Honestly, it could use some of these styling techniques that make your outfit 10 times better. While the top is cute, it would have looked a little more polished with a skirt or a well-cut pair of pants. The length and cut of the green shorts are boxy and don't look flattering with a flowier top.
Best: Erin Napier's green midi dress was a high point for her
Honestly, Erin Napier has worn some hit-or-miss outfits over the years, but this green midi dress definitely falls into the "hit" category. While it's simple in its design, the V-cut of the neckline and sleeves really flatter her. Wearing this forest green shade is also a fall 2026 fashion trend to have on your radar. Unlike her busy printed dress we mentioned earlier, this one doesn't do too much but still leans into Napier's particular brand of boho chic.
Worst: Erin Napier's blue peasant dress didn't work with sneakers
We love how down-to-earth Erin Napier is, often wearing very low-key looks on "Home Town" that feel relatable. However, her blue peasant dress just didn't quite work with sneakers here. The print of the dress is cute, and that gorgeous shade of blue really stands out. Unfortunately, her choice of footwear almost ruins the look. This dress would have looked a lot better with a pair of strappy mules or low-heeled sandals.
Best: Erin Napier's boho dress and boots were casual yet chic
This look Erin Napier wore on a season finale episode of "Home Town" is really chic without trying too hard. Again, Napier loves leaning into more casual styles while filming the show, and most of the time, it works. The length of this particular dress looks great with her tall brown suede boots. The heel on the boots is also really low, making them appear comfortable but cute for the occasion. Overall, a chic but casual look we loved.
