The Worst Celebrity Halloween Costumes Of 2026

Each year, the rich and famous go all out for Halloween, giving us incredibly unique and detailed costumes, and 2026 was no different. There was reality star Lisa Rinna, who dressed up as fellow reality star Kylie Jenner, giving us all the inspo for a perfect pop culture Halloween costume. Then there was supermodel and Halloween queen Heidi Klum, who was a literal severed hand. Most celebrities tend to put plenty of effort into their spooky looks, but every year, we also encounter a few who look like they couldn't care less about what their costume will be. These kinds of costumes often appear very last-minute, failing to stand up against the competition.

The worst celebrity Halloween costumes of 2025 should have been a lesson for many, but unfortunately, 2026 was just as filled with low-effort looks, as stars like Paris Hilton and Hailey Bieber show. Now, don't get us wrong — most of these are not horrible costumes, but from A-list stars who love showing off their looks on social media, we did expect a little more.

Hailey Bieber's angel look was an incredibly boring choice

Dressing up as an angel and devil for a Halloween partner look is a predictable choice, and one that we've seen time and time again. In 2026, model Hailey Bieber and her husband Justin Bieber showed off their version of the popular costume on Instagram, leaving us highly underwhelmed.

Now, listen: Had there been intricate makeup and truly detailed costumes, we could have let this slide, but the couple's look was minimalist and underwhelming, and certainly deserving of a mention on our list. While the stunning style transformation of Hailey Bieber is a sight to behold, the star's Halloween transformation is not.

Tate McRae's Catwoman costume was a Halloween look we've seen countless times

Pop star Tate McRae shared her Catwoman costume on Instagram, and although she looked like Julie Newmar in the 1960s series "Batman," the simple costume didn't wow us. Dressing up as Catwoman for Halloween is something we've seen countless times, and even though the "Housewife" singer paid homage to a specific on-screen look we rarely see (most tend to go for Halle Berry, Anne Hathaway, or Michelle Pfeiffer's version), the final costume looked very low-effort.

Paris Hilton's fairy costume left us underwhelmed

Like most celebs, Paris Hilton gave us a few Halloween looks, and while some stunned, others unfortunately flopped. Her "I'm a Slave 4 U" Britney Spears look was easily among the best celebrity Halloween costumes we've seen this year. However, at Christina Aguilera's annual Xtinaween party, the reality star showed up as a plain old fairy. While her costume was cute and very Hilton-like, dressing up as a fairy is almost as bland as going for an angel or Catwoman costume.

Yawn: Sydney Sweeney and Scooter Braun dressed up as teddy bears

Sydney Sweeney and Scooter Braun definitely gave the Biebers a run for their money this year, managing to top the couple's angel-and-devil costume in the dullness department. Sweeney and Braun dressed up as giant teddy bears by putting on matching teddy onesies. "Happy Halloween from your favorite party animals," Sweeney wrote on her Instagram Story, as if this couple costume needed an explanation.

Vittoria Ceretti's sexy Little Red Riding Hood costume was so unimaginative

Model Vittoria Ceretti is absolutely stunning, and no matter what Halloween costume she wears, all eyes are on her. This year, the star took the sultry costume route, dressing as a sexy version of Little Red Riding Hood. The often-seen look was cute, but we wish she had taken it to the next level by either adding scary elements to it or even more daringness. Instead, it looked like she hadn't planned to dress up, and this costume was simply a last-minute purchase.

Alix Earle's Halloween look was as generic as it gets

While most of the stars on our 2026 list took a route that was safe and predictable, Alix Earle chose a look so generic we don't even know what it was. The social media star shared snapshots of herself wearing a little black dress with a black lace cape. To complete the elusive look, she had black circles around her eyes and stitches drawn on her lips, but what the costume actually was kind of remains a mystery. "Love her but it didn't give costume," a fan wrote on her Instagram post, with another adding, "What are you supposed to be?" And frankly, those were our exact thoughts too.

McCall DaPron and her family dressed up as the Kennedys on the day of the JFK assassination

Most stars landed on our list because their looks were predictable and boring, but not McCall DaPron. The "Secret Lives of Mormon Wives: Orange County" star dressed up as Jackie Kennedy Onassis on the day President John F. Kennedy was assassinated. Her husband dressed as the president, with some of their children dressed up as security, for a family Halloween costume that definitely won as the most tasteless choice this year. Since posting the photos, the reality star has unsurprisingly deleted them.
