The Palace Is Selling Replicas Of Meghan Markle’s Engagement Ring
Following the public engagement of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle last fall, Cleve & Company, announced they would not make official replicas of her engagement ring, even after being inundated with requests. This news broke the hearts of royal-obsessed women worldwide. The stunning three-stone ring, designed by Prince Harry himself, features a specially-sourced diamond, as well as smaller diamonds once owned by Princess Diana, and is reportedly worth up $350,000.
The Palace, however, has answered the prayers of those seeking the Markle Sparkle. Earlier this week, the Royal Collection, which operates the official gift shop of Buckingham Palace released a selection of statement jewelry. The collection includes a Buckingham Palace Statement Ring, which is reminiscent of Markle’s one-of-a-kind engagement ring. The best part? You can get your hands on it for only $40. Steal!
The replica, of course, does not feature real diamonds. But it’s the sentiment that matters, right? In place of the jewels, sparkling crystals are set on palladium plated metal. The band is adjustable for a universal fit — though, trust us when we say that this will also come in handy after a champagne-fueled night out, no matter your ring size.
To finish the look, the shop is selling coordinating drop earrings and a pendant necklace. Now, all you need is the gown.
This isn’t the first time we’ve seen imitations inspired by Markle’s style. Because of her ability to sell out an item of clothing within hours of wearing it — something that has been dubbed “The Meghan Markle Effect” — designers have been creating affordable alternatives for the public. Shortly after the Royal Wedding in May, bridal brands began making replicas of the Duchess of Sussex's custom Givenchy gown designed Claire Waight.
