Deep moss green

Green is always in style when it comes to your manicure, but this fall we're seeing a deeper, mossy green shade as a breakout trend. "It's my go-to fall shade as it flatters any skin tone, and the green is a nice way to try out a darker shade without wearing the classic burgundy that we see a lot of in the fall," manicurist and LeChat Nails educator Syreeta Aaron tells Vogue.

Periwinkle blue

We've seen lots of navy and blue/gray polishes dominating fall manicures, but this year a brighter periwinkle blue has emerged as a trend leader. This color is dark enough to give off those cool weather vibes while still being vibrant. Not everything about fall has to involve muted tones, and this is a great color to help transition between the seasons.

Chocolate brown

"Traditionally, we see a lot of dark reds and dark purples make their way through fall nail trends," nail artist Thuy Nguyen tells E! News. "But this year, shades of brown will spark a lot with artists and clients." Chocolate nails are neutral enough to match almost anything and appeal to those who prefer a more minimalist manicure while adding more color than a traditional nude or milky white polish.

Mustard yellow

You may think of sunny summer days when you think of yellow nail polish, but mustard yellow is quickly becoming a color many are embracing for fall. In fact, Heather Reynosa, the global education design director at OPI tells Oprah Daily how popular this color is. "Mustard is an underrated hue that will come out on top this fall. It's super on-theme for the season and looks great on every skin tone," she explains.

Turquoise polish is a fun and flirty way to add a little color to your fall manicure. "This spring we launched Galaxy Far Far Away, a turquoise with silver shimmer that can accompany any and all velvet tracksuits," she explains.

Classic nude

Life is busy, especially around the holidays, so the last thing you want to worry about is your manicure. Nude nails are ideal for those who want a neutral, go-with-everything polish that is still on-trend. "Classic nude nails never go out of style!" Nadine Abramcyk, co-founder and head of nail care brand TenoverTen, tells TZR. "We've seen a lot of our customers going back to basics with their nail care recently, opting for lower maintenance nude polishes over bolder shades," she explains.

Pumpkin orange

Just because Halloween is over doesn't mean you have to put the orange polish away. Orange is the perfect manicure choice for Thanksgiving because, as OPI nail artist Galdina Jimenez explains to Cosmopolitan, it gives you "the perfect transition from fun multi-colored spring and summer shades to more neutral cozy shades that remind us of pumpkin spice lattes and crunchy brown leaves on the ground."

Plum

Even though red and burgundy will always be hot fall manicure colors, this year plum, a reddish-purple hue, is having its own moment. "Plum colors are going to be huge this year. It's a trend that screams sophistication," Deborah Lippman tells PureWow. "It's also a gorgeous color that is perfect for various occasions."

Deep red

Red is a classic manicure color, but for fall you can take the shade a little darker, leaning more into the oxblood and wine shades to fully embrace the season. "A dark red, like a burgundy or wine red, is great for fall," explains manicurist Maki Sakamoto to Vogue. This color goes with everything from your favorite jeans and sweater to evening wear.

Gray

"[Gray] will be all the rage this fall," Glosslab founder Rachel Apfel tells Nylon. "It's an upgrade from the pale blushes and whites of summer." For many, gray is taking over from nude as the ideal neutral, minimalist nail color of the moment. It's also becoming a favorite base color for those who prefer a chrome finish to their manicure, taking over from the pale pink polish that started the trend.
