Outdated Outfits Alexandra Daddario Has Been Caught Wearing

If you asked people where they knew Alexandra Daddario from, many people would say from her roles in the 2010 film "Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief" and the popular Max series "The White Lotus," but the 38-year-old red-carpet regular has also created a name for herself within the fashion realm through her trendy style and signature red lip. The gorgeous blue-eyed actor's stunning style transformation throughout her career has been beautiful to see, but her fashion journey, just like any actor's, hasn't been without its bumps and hiccups.

The "Mayfair Witches" star has been spotted wearing outdated and poorly-coordinated 'fits on several occasions, creating a dent in her budding fashionista status. For instance, her wardrobe in the mid-2000s was particularly outdated, featuring a jumble of fashion trends from decades past. While returning to vintage or outdated trends is not unheard of, the "White Collar" actor struggles to incorporate modern elements into her style. Today, Daddario's approach to fashion falls somewhere between quirky and contemporary, but not even a top celeb is immune to the occasional outfit mishap.

Alexandra Daddario missed the mark with this vintage-inspired design

Vivienne Westwood pioneered punk fashion and is globally recognized as a style icon. So, when we say that Alexandra Daddario's black-and-gold dress at the 2017 Billboard Awards felt outdated, we mean it in the most respectful way possible. Objectively, the dress is a work of art and features a unique cut. However, it takes a certain eye for haute couture to pull off such an unconventional and avant-garde piece. Otherwise, your eye only catches the heavy drapery and vintage curtain pattern. The simple ponytail and black ankle-strap pumps were attempts at modernization, but they ultimately didn't tie the look together in our opinion.

Alexandra Daddario's millenial 'fit was a disastrous blast from the past

At the Hollywood premiere of "Best F(r)iends" in 2018, Alexandra Daddario donned a surprisingly unfashionable outfit that featured a royal-purple V-neck blouse, cream coat, skinny jeans, and black booties. This outfit combo was all over the place and included several pieces that revealed her distinctly millennial fashion sense. Anyone from the early aughts will remember tucking their skinny jeans into suede ankle boots, which isn't a crime in and of itself so much as a reminder of Daddario's failure to modernize her wardrobe. The ensemble felt outmoded for 2018 — the year that reintroduced wide-leg denim and sleek combat boots.

Alexandra Daddario's Y2K 'fit was outdated (yet delightfully vampy)

In 2019, Alexandra Daddario attended the premiere of "Why Women Kill" wearing a burgundy, faux-leather wrap top and black, straight-leg pants. She also paired her vampy outfit with a dark lippie and strappy heels. Daddario's edgy Y2K look seemed out of place and didn't coincide with her character's wardrobe, either. While the throwback outfit may be considered outdated, the actor absolutely killed it with this look, as the bold red complemented her complexion and natural brunette hair.

Alexandra Daddario's metallic minidress lacked a modern touch

The metallic trend comes and goes, but it's very much a fad from the futuristic '80s. The eye-catching gleam of colorful lamé garments was one of those decade-specific micro-trends that never quite made a legitimate comeback. Sure, people still wear sparkly New Year's Eve dresses and it's not uncommon to see metallic pants every once in a while, but metallic silver outfits in 2022 sometimes appear outdated. Although Alexandra Daddario's sleek center-part updo is modern enough, the glitzy minidress and rhinestone heels haven't aged well. There's a fine line between trendy runway metallics and '80s kitsch, and her GQ outfit veered too close to the latter for our liking.

Alexandra Daddario's old-fashioned florals aged her

This spring, Alexandra Daddario attended the F1 Grand Prix at the Circuit de Monaco. For the international racing competition, the actor donned a lovely white garden-party dress — or what would have been a lovely dress had it not featured such a dizzying floral pattern. After all, large floral print is one of the outdated clothing mistakes that will inevitably age you. White floral dresses leave a feminine impression, but the palm-sized flowers were far from dainty. She would have done better to reach for a dress with a smaller, subtler print. The incongruous transparent pumps did her no favors, either.

Alexandra Daddario's tent dress was an odd holiday mishmash

At the 2024 Filming Italy festival, Alexandra Daddario opted for a pink-and-green striped maxi dress with thin straps and bow-tie detail. The striped dress wasn't so much outdated as it was an outright unfortunate fashion choice. Together, the tent-like fit, bold stripes, and crumpled bow tie looked similar to a poorly wrapped Christmas present and did little for Daddario's figure or complexion. Although the oversized dress helped conceal her baby bump, we don't understand the appeal of the dress' shapeless silhouette and Easter egg-esque colors.
