From bright green to blond, Billie Eilish has had quite the hair transformation throughout her career. She's known for experimenting with colors from across the rainbow but has currently settled on jet black (for now), which goes with her moody aura. However, many fans may be surprised to know that the "Birds of a Feather" singer was born with a completely different shade. In November 2023, Eilish shared a throwback picture of herself when she was a toddler, and it turns out that she has naturally blond hair. The pop star was so unrecognizable that one fan commented, "That's a cute baby or little person don't know if it's a boy or girl but very cute."
The year prior, the "Lunch" singer celebrated her 21st birthday by posting a hilarious picture of her crying as a young kid on her birthday. This photo featured her wheat-colored hair in a slightly longer length, appearing to be tied back in a messy ponytail. "I'm dead," a fan replied. Although Eilish has dyed her hair platinum blond and she wore blond hair during her "Happier Than Ever" era, she admitted that it wasn't her favorite look and revealed what color makes her feel most like herself.

If you guessed that Billie Eilish's current hair color is her favorite, you're right. In a video for Vogue, she shared, "My hair, it has randomly in my life been the thing that I change a lot." She told fans that the first time she dyed her hair blue was at 9 years old, followed by a bleach job at 13. She then stated, "Black is kind of what feels the most like me, weirdly. Even though I think I'm naturally blond. I haven't had natural hair color in a long time." Although Billie Eilish started a trend with her vivid, colorful roots, she admitted that the lime shade wasn't working for her, as she got recognized on the streets too easily.
Besides the green, Eilish revealed that her least-favorite hair shade was the electric blue that she rocked in 2018. "Dude, what's so interesting to me is that blue has always been my least-favorite color. Which is so stupid because my hair was blue for years. But I didn't mean for it to be — that was an accident," she told Rolling Stone in 2024. "Somebody put too much toner in my white hair and suddenly it was lavendery-blue, and then I kept getting it blue, and then I was known as this blue-haired girl," Eilish recalled. Eventually, she learned to love it, sharing, "But over the last couple of years, I've just been like, 'Wait, blue is so who I am at my core.'" It looks like Eilish is in her jet-black phase, but we wouldn't be surprised if she suddenly changed things up once again.
