How Jennifer Lopez's Face Has Transformed Over The Years, According To Our Plastic Surgeon
Jennifer Lopez's beauty has many fans wondering if she drank from the fountain of youth, but there's no denying that her face has changed over the years, leading many to speculate on whether she's had some work done. While there are several celebrities who have opened up about their plastic surgery experience, the "Unstoppable" star has never admitted to going under the knife, but board-certified plastic surgeon Dr. Frederick Weniger thinks she had a very subtle nose job. "Jennifer had a naturally wider nasal bridge and slightly bulbous tip, consistent with a youthful, unoperated nose. By the late 1990s and into the early 2000s, her nasal bridge appears narrower, with more definition along the dorsum and a more refined, elevated tip," he exclusively tells Glam.
Lopez is the queen of contouring, but Dr. Weniger believes that makeup isn't the only thing that makes her look snatched. "In earlier years, she had a softer mandibular angle and a rounder chin. In more recent photos, her chin looks more defined and tapered, which could point to either a chin implant or targeted filler," he notes. Our plastic surgery expert adds, "Alongside this, the increased definition along the jawline could also be attributed to energy-based skin tightening procedures or even submental liposuction at some point, as her lower face appears very taut and sculpted despite aging." Lopez's nose and chin aren't the only areas Dr. Weniger believes have been tweaked, and his eagle eyes see hints of more procedures that are making the superstar look at least a decade younger.
Jennifer Lopez's lifted look could very well be from plastic surgery
Jennifer Lopez looks flawless, even makeup-free, and that may be from the help of some tightening via surgery. Dr. Frederick Weniger observes how her brows were closer to the eye area in the earlier years, but now sit higher up. "This could be the result of a subtle endoscopic brow lift or regular use of neuromodulators like Botox to lift the lateral brow," he exclusively shares with us. Along with the pulled brow area, the South Carolina-based plastic surgeon points out Lopez's wider eyes, which would naturally become more hooded with age. "This suggests that she may have had upper blepharoplasty to reduce eyelid skin or fat," Dr. Weniger tells Glam. He also points out that her lower eyelids lack signs of aging, which could indicate either surgery or fillers to plump up the area.
Full facelifts are not uncommon with older celebrities, but Dr. Weniger believes Lopez might have gone the mini facelift route or an SMAS (superficial musculoaponeurotic system) lift. "Additionally, her midface has remained high and full, with no descent of the cheek fat pads, which typically occurs with age," he says. The "Get Right" singer might be getting fillers or fat grafting to add fullness to her face, but because of her smooth neck and jawline, Dr. Weniger sees signs pointing to plastic surgery. The expert thinks any work Lopez might have done so far is well-executed, and with future maintenance, she'll slow down the aging process significantly.
Strategic procedures will go a long way in keeping Jennifer Lopez looking youthful
No plastic surgery in the world can stop the aging process completely, but there are a variety of procedures Jennifer Lopez can do to maintain her natural beauty, according to Dr. Frederick Weniger. "... as the deeper ligaments and fascia of the face continue to weaken with age, a deep-plane facelift could provide long-term structural support without over-reliance on filler," he exclusively tells Glam. "While she may already have had some lifting work done, a surgical facelift that repositions the underlying tissue, not just skin, would preserve the natural movement and contours of her face as she enters her 60s," the board-certified plastic surgeon states. Lopez may also want to address her neck in the upcoming years (though she shouldn't feel any pressure to), as that area tends to show age. "While her neck still looks excellent now, early signs of platysmal banding or slight laxity could be proactively addressed with a neck lift or energy-based skin tightening procedures like FaceTite or Renuvion to stimulate collagen and keep the area firm," he suggests.
While Lopez's eyes are perfectly fine now, she could freshen them up later on with an upper and lower eyelid surgery or laser resurfacing, Dr. Weniger says. As for non-invasive or minimally invasive treatments, he tells us that "while her skin is still glowing, ongoing maintenance with fractional lasers, RF (radiofrequency) microneedling, or PRP (platelet-rich plasma) can help preserve elasticity, even out pigment, and promote long-term collagen production." With Lopez's ageless face, it's clear she's in the know about the best and latest beauty care, and whatever she's doing is definitely working.
