Paris Jackson Will Never Live Down Her Inappropriate Outfit At A 2024 Academy Awards Party

As the daughter of the late pop icon Michael Jackson, Paris Jackson has been in the limelight since she was young. Now in her late 20s, Paris is a triple threat — she sings, acts, and models, and if you ask us, she's also known for her slightly eccentric and usually daring style. While Paris Jackson's stunning style transformation shows just how authentic the star's approach to clothing is, she's also prone to the occasional style faux pas, which brings us to Elton John's iconic annual Academy Awards party. In March 2024, Paris attended the star-studded bash in a head-turning sheer number that left little to the imagination.

The sparkly chainmail number was see-through, yet Paris ditched her bra for the night. She did wear a pair of black panties that covered the bare minimum, and her legs were accentuated thanks to the ultra-high slits on each side. To make matters worse, when Paris turned around, a heart-shaped cutout on the back of the dress, framed in white ruffly chiffon, was all we could see. That said, fashion has always provided an escape for Paris, who uses the art form to express herself. "I have always felt very uncomfortable in my own skin, and I've always had very unmanageable thoughts and feelings," Paris told Fashion Magazine in 2025. "I was like, 'If I feel so different, I might as well actually dress like it.'" And that she did — and again and again.

Some would consider giving sheer fashion a break after such a bold fashion moment, but Paris Jackson has stuck to her love for see-through looks since the 2024 Academy Awards party. In March 2025, Paris attended a Stella McCartney fashion show during Paris Fashion Week in another sheer black number, and it caused quite a stir due to her chest being exposed. Following the outfit's debut, Paris revealed on her Instagram stories that the reason the gown caused such a commotion was lost on her. "I don't really understand why the human body is a driving force for so much discomfort in so many people," she shared (via WWD). "Like, it's just a body. Don't get uncomfortable with our bodies. It's your body, you've got one, I've got one, we've all got one. It's OK. There's nothing wrong with it." Then, in September 2025, Paris attended a launch party for EE72 Magazine in a sheer brown top that also set the girls free. 

While Paris Jackson has had numerous inappropriate red carpet outfits over the years, her confidence in her fashion choices is inspiring. She's clearly not immune to inappropriate sheer fashion, but Paris owns her looks each time, no matter how over-the-top they are. And hey, with fashion, confidence is at least half of the battle.
