Princess Leonor's Most Stunning Makeup Moments

The House of Bourbon has ruled over Spain for hundreds of years. The current monarch, King Felipe VI, has been on the throne since 2014, and his wife, Queen Letizia, constantly impresses with her fashion and beauty moves. Oh, and his eldest daughter, Princess Leonor of Asturias, has blossomed into her own. She's destined to be the next queen of Spain, and while we can't predict whether Leonor will go down in history à la Isabella of Castile, we have a feeling she'll be serving up plenty of stunning makeup looks during her reign.

As she moved through her late teens in the early 2020s, it became obvious that the future queen would be taking her beauty game seriously. Her go-to makeup look is clean and professional — in other words, perfect for a modern royal. But even within the confines of what's appropriate in the royal court, Leonor has been able to still have fun with her makeup, bringing together shimmery shadows and dewy highlighter with her natural-looking coverage. Of course, the princess has the natural assets that make any makeup look phenomenal: namely, a symmetrical face and bright eyes. But she knows exactly how to flaunt these with the appropriate product application and the right colors to strategically turn heads her way. She's still coming into her own on the global stage, but based on her makeup alone, we're adding Princess Leonor to our growing list of the most stylish royals that should be on your radar

Princess Leonor masters clean beauty

At the Pascua Military ceremony in January 2026, Princess Leonor let her natural beauty shine. Since she was decked out in a traditional military uniform with her hair pulled back in a simple bun, she had to let her face do the heavy lifting. To create a clean makeup look that emphasized her best features, she appears to have opted for natural-looking coverage with the slightest swipe of pink blush, minimal eyeshadow, natural pink lips, filled-in brows, and black mascara. Military ceremony or 9-5, these elements are perfect for a professional yet pretty finish.

Princess Leonor understands how to emphasize her eyes

As she's grown older, Princess Leonor has evolved from youthful makeup to more dramatic looks fit for the Spanish throne. At a reception after the imposition of the Golden Fleece in November 2025, the princess went for a rosy-bronze matte eyeshadow, which she also used to underline her eyes. The pink and brown tones worked beautifully to contrast and thus draw attention to her bright-blue eyes. Her thick brows were filled in just enough, and she had slightly more blush here to cement this as a formal look.

Princess Leonor loves a glittery eyeshadow

Though there's a time and place for matte eyeshadow, Princess Leonor looks phenomenal in products that have a little shimmer, especially when she opts for colors that enhance her eyes. At the Princesa de Asturias Awards in Oviedo, Spain, in October 2025, Leonor went with a rose-gold metallic eyeshadow, which was blended with other similar tones to create a complex yet stunning eye look. She finished it off with a swipe of mascara, focusing on the top lids, a deeper blush, and a fun pink lip.

Princess Leonor turns up the drama when she wants to

Royal makeup should lean more natural than intense, but there's a time and place for both. Princess Leonor went for the latter in another look at the Princesa de Asturias Awards in October 2025, opting for a more dramatic bronze smokey eye that was darker in the outer corners. While the palette drew attention to her stunning blue eyes, the placement of darker shadow at the upper outer corners almost created an alluring siren effect. Her under-eyes were also lined more dramatically with a bronze shimmer.

Princess Leonor combines clean makeup with color contrasts

During a visit to the Olite Royal Palace in Olite, Spain, in September 2025, Princess Leonor brought together two aesthetics. Most of her face fit the clean-girl makeup look: She had a light matte foundation coverage with just a touch of blush and little to no contouring or highlighter, along with a simple pink lip. But she paired this with her go-to rose-gold metallic eyeshadow that makes her eyes pop, even when the rest of her makeup is minimal. Her eyes were less siren-y, but the color contrast still gave her an X-factor.

Princess Leonor gets dewy for summer

Velvety matte seems to be the preferred coverage finish as far as royals are concerned, but when the Spanish summer hits, a dewy look is infinitely better. While visiting Palma de Mallorca in August 2025, Princess Leonor ditched her matte foundation for something shinier, along with deeper tones of bronze and pink for her cheeks. She went easier on the eye makeup, opting for beige on her lids and under her eyes, and turned up the dewy highlighter on her nose and cheeks. Undoubtedly, the princess knows how to perfect the soft glam look.

A darker lip was in order for the Atlantida Film Festival

In July 2025, Princess Leonor attended the Atlantida Film Festival in Palma de Mallorca with her mom and sister, Queen Letizia and Princess Sofía. She went decidedly more casual and playful than usual, opting for a deeper lip to mark the evening outing. Her favorite lip palette is clearly pink, but the princess went a few shades darker here, pairing it with bronze eyeshadow that seemed less stark as her lips became the star of the show.

Princess Leonor loves to make her eyes pop

Back in December 2022, Princess Leonora participated in a Red Cross event in Madrid, Spain, and her makeup was appropriate for a low-key royal event. She still went for her usual contrasting eyeshadow, though this time it was less shimmery and lighter so as not to draw so much attention. Pairing this with natural rosy blush, a shimmery pink lip, lightly filled-in brows, and a clear complexion, she ended up with a look that was clean and not overdone for a 17-year-old fulfilling her royal duties.

The princess knows when to amp up the glam

Princess Leonor's makeup coverage is usually minimal, but she went with a heavier finish for a June 2024 ceremony in Madrid, Spain. She wore more bronzer on her cheeks than usual, along with some highlighter near her cheekbones. Careful not to end up looking overly stamped, she toned down what would've been an ultra-glam look by going for beige eyeshadow and nearly neutral pink lips. Once more, her brows were expertly done; she surely knows that too much dark brow liner is a common eyebrow mistake that can really age you.

Princess Leonor is pretty in pink

In 2023, Princess Leonor was still in braces (reminding the world that she's only human!). At the Princesa de Asutrias Awards in Oviedo, Spain, she went for a pink palette from top to tail. Her eyeshadow was a pinkier silver than normal, and she teamed this with rosy blush and a shade of pink lip stain that was almost a perfect match for her pink dress. We're guessing this was a strategic decision, as her lips were more saturated than normal, and it paid off by making her overall appearance seem cohesive and intentional.
