When it comes to the most inappropriate outfits in Golden Globes history, Christina Ricci's 2024 look definitely needs to be mentioned. "The Addams Family" star loves a good fashion moment, but the look she chose in 2024 is unfortunately hard to forget. Ricci walked the red carpet in a completely see-through Fendi dress, which she accessorized with a black clutch and jewelry by Anita Ko. However, the see-through bedazzled number was too revealing for a glamorous red-carpet event such as the Golden Globes. While Ricci wore skin-colored panties and nipple covers, the look gave off the illusion of her being actually naked, which undeniably caused double takes.

Ricci has publicly proclaimed her love for fashion, so while her look was inappropriate, it's probably only natural for her to want to take sartorial risks. "Fashion is my sport of choice," the "Sleepy Hollow" actor told Vanity Fair in 2023. What to wear under on-trend sheer clothing is a dilemma anyone with a dress like this would face, and the first thing to consider would be what the occasion calls for. In this case, something more sophisticated would have worked better, but this dress could have passed as acceptable had the actor worn something like a visible bodysuit or a bra and high-waisted panties combination underneath. The added visible undergarment would have ruined the naked illusion while still allowing the dress to have its sheer moment.

Anyone who has kept up with Christina Ricci's style over the past three decades knows that the actor isn't afraid of experimenting with her look. Her confidence has grown, and Ricci revealed that she doesn't really care what others think of her. "I think what I learned was that it doesn't matter if I'm beautiful or not by anyone's standards," she told People in 2025. In fact, in the 2000s, Ricci had already showcased her love for showing a bit more skin with sheer fabric. For a Glamour Magazine party in 2002, the actor decided to free the nipple by wearing a casual long-sleeved minidress with no bra underneath. More recently, in 2025, Ricci attended the star-studded Vanity Fair Oscar Party in a beautiful sheer Rodarte dress. This time, however, she clearly learned her lesson as the stripes of the gown created a visually busier dress, which helped deflect from the nude moment. However, her nude pants were still noticeable, especially since their color didn't match her skin well, yet they weren't different enough from it to be intentional. But hey, you live, and you learn. We hope that Christina Ricci finds that perfect balance of showing just the right amount of skin for the occasion and wearing undergarments that work perfectly with the piece before her next sheer fashion moment.
