Mandy Moore's Face Transformation Has Made Her Nearly Unrecognizable
As a musician and actor, Mandy Moore has been in the spotlight since her childhood. In the late '90s, her hit song "Candy" catapulted her into stardom before she pivoted to acting with starring roles in "A Walk to Remember" and "This is Us." With almost three decades in front of the cameras, it's only natural to see her face change. However, in recent years, Moore's appearance has raised some concern among fans, who believe the changes in her face aren't all natural. "Wait, what did Mandy Moore do to her face?" a user asked on X, with another sharing a similar sentiment on Reddit, writing, "She was genuinely so beautiful before. I don't even recall who this is."
Speaking exclusively to Glam, double-board-certified plastic surgeon Dr. Samuel Golpanian shares what he thinks has been done to Moore's face. "I think when she was younger, she had a smaller nose," the expert tells us. "She may have done something with her nose in the more recent picture. Her nostrils look a little wider, and her nose looks slightly longer, though she is smiling." However, in 2018, Moore denied ever getting a nose job, telling PopSugar, "I remember seeing some blog post that said I got a nose job. I was like, 'That's weird — my nose is pretty imperfect'" (via People). Nevertheless, side-by-side photos of the star from 2005 and 2025 show that her nose does look slightly different. So, can you really change your nose shape without surgery? Short answer: Yes, but you'd still need to undergo injectable treatments to make it happen.
Mandy Moore has lost some facial volume over the years
What becomes quickly apparent by looking at images of Mandy Moore in the 2000s and today is that the actor has lost some facial volume. "In the younger photo, you can see she had very full cheeks," Dr. Samuel Golpanian points out exclusively for Glam. "As we age, facial fat decreases, including what we call buccal fat, so that volume naturally goes down over time."
Another noticeable difference is a change to her eyes, which led many to believe that Moore had undergone a blepharoplasty, the trendy micro-procedure that's aiming for your eyelids. "Upper eyelid surgery can make a person look really different. I went and looked up Mandy Moore 1999 and that's the biggest difference really," a user wrote on Reddit.
While the actor hasn't confirmed or denied it, her hooded eyelids seem to be completely gone. Our expert adds that "in her younger years, she had some hooding of the upper eyelids," and usually with aging, "the skin becomes more lax and gravity causes excess skin." He adds that "an upper blepharoplasty or upper eyelid lift can help open the eyes a bit."
If she did any cosmetic procedures, Mandy Moore kept it natural-looking
While Dr. Samuel Golpanian shares that he believes Mandy Moore has undergone some cosmetic procedures, the expert adds that the "Tangled" star always kept things natural-looking. If Moore did any injectables, she made sure not to go overboard with them. "I think she may have had some filler in the lips," the surgeon tells us exclusively. If Moore did enhance her pout, she did it in a minimal manner, especially as the actor always had plump lips.
When it comes to Botox, it's hard to tell if Moore has tried it. "I don't think she's done any work around the eyes — you can still see crow's feet in the more recent photos," Dr. Golpanian shares. As the actor has entered her 40s, she still looks beautiful and youthful, and her makeup is often applied to accentuate her best features.
