If Hunter Schafer's set to attend a red carpet, we already know the fashion will be epic. After rising to fame in 2019 thanks to HBO's "Euphoria," Schafer began to make her mark on red carpets at award shows and premieres around the world, leaving a trail of stunned onlookers in her wake as she cultivated her personal sense of style.

"I know for myself, I have a very distinct style, and I know what I like, and I know what I don't like," Schafer, who once had dreams of becoming a fashion designer, told Who What Wear in 2019. "But it has been a process of learning how to cater to the different events that happen with Hollywood and how you might want to dress for red carpet and what things photograph well. There's definitely more strategy involved. It's a challenge." With red carpets in particular, Schafer is drawn to the way that glamorous, maximalist fashion can help a person discover their truth. "While it can feel extra to be putting that much time, energy or thought into your appearance, particularly for trans people, sometimes you're not really yourself until you feel as though you're presenting who you actually are to the world," she revealed to W Magazine in 2021. "... I found an aesthetic that I could see myself in through high fashion." It's difficult to narrow down her best red carpet looks, but the following 10 are ones we just can't fault.

Hunter Schafer owns the red carpet at the prestigious Vanity Fair Oscar Party every time she attends it, and 2025 was no exception. The "Euphoria" star graced the media wall in a slinky, champagne-toned halter-neck dress with a seriously plunging neckline. But the best part of this 16Arlington look was the shaggy coat, making it a standout moment in Hunter Schafer's transformation. Bringing a sense of playfulness back into the picture, the coat featured select black sections that matched Schafer's strappy sandals.

The Primetime Emmys attracts the cream of the crop as far as glamorous dresses are concerned, and Hunter Schafer looked every bit the part in September 2025, as she showed up in a sophisticated body-hugging scarlet gown from Alexander McQueen's Fall/Winter 2025 ready-to-wear collection. She's proven that red carpet dresses are her fashion sweet spot, but don't underestimate Hunter Schafer's potential to pull off an exquisite suit. She proved her style versatility at the Met Gala in May 2025, when she honored the "Superfine: Tailoring Black Style" theme with a double-breasted white jacket paired with black slacks and a blazer. "I don't know when the last time I wore a suit on a carpet was but I am so not stressed right now," she told Vogue at the event, adding that she was super "comfortable" in the Prada 'fit.

The strapless corset bodice flowed into a slim skirt with a major thigh slit, and she finished the look off with a pair of satin opera gloves. She graced the event in another metallic look, this time in bright gold to match the aesthetic of the Capitol. "This is Prada," she told HeyUGuys on the red carpet. "They're my family over there. They did custom for us. And we did gold to kind of match all the gold around us."

Hunter Schafer first stepped onto the world stage at the June 2019 Los Angeles premiere of "Euphoria." Perhaps matching the gritty vibe of the show, or indeed exploring her unique takes on fashion, she rocked the purple carpet in an embellished midi dress from Rodarte. Featuring dark rosettes and a palette of grays and earthy yellow, the frock was finished off with silver cap-toed combat boots. Already, Schafer was letting the world know that she would be carving out her own style lane rather than following trends. 

Many of Hunter Schafer's best red carpet looks are like works of art, but one understood that assignment better than the others. At the 2024 Golden Creativity Awards, Schafer appeared in a  Marni gown by Francesco Risso that was painted by hand to evoke Vincent Van Gogh's "Starry night." The blue-and-white artwork was instantly recognizable, but Schafer and her stylist, Dara Allen, took it one step further by pairing the dress with matching pointed heels, which were also painted by hand.
