Pics Of Yellowstone Star Kelly Reilly Before & After She Switched Up Her Iconic Orange Hair

If you're a huge "Yellowstone" fan, you've probably wondered what Beth Dutton looks like in real life. Played by actor Kelly Reilly, Dutton may be known for her signature strawberry blond locks, but in real life, Reilly has traditionally had more of a coppery red hair hue. The star is also a total natural beauty. If you haven't noticed, Kelly Reilly is also absolutely stunning without makeup. In fact, if you're a fan of the show, you'll also want to know what the "Yellowstone" universe's other leading ladies look like without makeup — they're all stunners in their own right. As Reilly was a surefire redhead, we think it's safe to assume that during her "Yellowstone" tenure, she would dye her locks when shooting.

The photo on the left was taken in October 2012 and the photo on the right was taken in May 2026. As you can see, her hair color before shooting "Yellowstone" was a much deeper red. Reilly has become part of the "Yellowstone" spinoff "Dutton Ranch," with the first episode premiering May 15, 2026. This could definitely be why the star kept her much blonder locks. While Beth's hair was more of a light auburn-blond shade in "Yellowstone," it seems Reilly decided to go even lighter for "Dutton Ranch," leaning into more of golden blond hue.

Kelly Reilly's hair color has changed a few times over the years

According to a 2024 Town & Country interview, Kelly Reilly dyed her hair a deeper red again mere hours after wrapping up a cover shoot for the magazine. She dyed it for a new project she was working on at the time called "Under Salt Marsh." This came shortly after the conclusion of "Yellowstone," marking a new chapter for the actor. "There's something about a new character clearing the palate for a different woman to move in," she said.

2024 through 2026 marked a few shifts in the actor's hair as well. It appears she went lighter and lighter after filming "Under Salt Marsh." Even in the above photo taken in January 2026, the actor was still rocking more of a strawberry blond shade, proving she decided to go fully golden-blond more recently.

People also reported that that Reilly didn't have much of a break between the conclusion of "Yellowstone" and the filming of "Dutton Ranch." "The last season of 'Yellowstone' was such an emotional thing," she said. "We finished filming in, I think, September 2024, and then we started up again in June or July and were talking about it all the time. So it didn't really feel like a big break ... The train was going, and we had to be on it." Although there was only a brief interlude for Reilly, we're loving the even blonder look for her in real life and hope to see it on her character in future episodes.
