The Sweet Story Behind Jane Seymour's Unique Engagement Ring
It would seem hip-hip-hoorays are in order for British actor Jane Seymour. It was announced in June 2026 that the former Bond girl got engaged months earlier, on Valentine's Day, to musician and ER doctor John Zambetti. The pair had dated for three years and were already committed to one another, but Zambetti told People in June 2026 that he prefers to do things the traditional way. "I'm just kind of old school. I don't like this partner talk. To me, we're not forming a law firm," he said. The proposal was apparently a joyful comedy of errors, but the engagement ring offers some serious sparkle. Instead of the commonly seen solitaire, simple band design, Zambetti opted for a two-stone ring. Two large center diamonds, surrounded and trailed by smaller pavé-style diamonds, nestle up close to one another.
"I saw this one ring that really spoke to me. I thought, like, it's the two of us together, and there's our past lives each leading up to us being together," he explained. Zambetti let symbolism lead, and it's a nice reminder that there's no shortage of non-traditional engagement rings for every type of bride and groom who want to do things their own way. In that same interview, Seymour said, "I knew he found a ring. I was surprised, but I was not surprised that he wanted me to live with him for the rest of our lives. That [decision] had already been made."
Jane Seymour didn't think she'd find a 'healthy' relationship in her 70s
When Jane Seymour and John Zambetti tie the knot they'll join a host of celebs who got married later in life, though it won't be the first go-round for either of them. Seymour has been married and divorced four times, and Zambetti was married to his wife for 43 years before she passed away in 2019. They have eight kids between them; she has six (including stepchildren), and he has two. Seymour told Hello! in an October 2025 interview that she wasn't expecting to find love again. "I honestly never thought I would find a really committed, healthy, lovely, loving relationship at this time of my life, but I'm incredibly blessed that I have."
She added, "I consider both of us so fortunate to have found each other at the time we have, because it wouldn't have ever worked earlier ... I think we met each other at exactly the right time." We don't have details on the big day yet, but we can imagine that her prep may include sticking a couple teaspoons in the freezer. Jane Seymour uses the old-school beauty trick for a well-rested appearance, a useful thing to carry into the next chapter.
