Between their golf course PDA and their sentimental Instagram posts, Paulina Gretzky and her husband, professional golfer Dustin Johnson, seem to be deeply in love. The couple, who have been married since 2022, share two adorable sons, Tatum Gretzky Johnson and River Jones Johnson. However, while the model seems to have a picture-perfect family with the love of her life, she originally wasn't that excited to meet Johnson.

In fact, it was Gretzky's mother, Janet Jones, who encouraged her daughter to give Johnson a chance after she met him first at a pro-am golf tournament in 2011. "I'm sure he was rolling his eyes, and so was I when my mom invited me over to meet this golfer she had just met. So I show up looking like a complete ragamuffin," Gretzky recalled to Golf Digest in 2014. Fortunately, the two hit it off, and Johnson ended up taking Gretzky out on a group date that night along with her father, legendary hockey player Wayne Gretzky.

Sure, including your dad on a first date may sound a bit cringe for some, but Gretzky didn't mind. "You build like a friendship and then it leads into something that will last," she told "The Scoop" in 2024 (via Golf.com). And last it did. The two went on to get engaged two years later and started an exciting life together with their cute family. 

While Paulina Gretzky's swap from blond to dark brown is still her boldest hair transformation, it's probably safe to say that becoming a mother was her biggest life transformation overall. She and Dustin Johnson welcomed their first son, Tatum Gretzky Johnson, in January 2015. Johnson shared a sweet photo on his Instagram of them in the delivery room at the time, where he's seen embracing Gretzky as she holds their newborn. From the looks of the photo, the couple seemed to love being new parents.

It was seemingly a special moment, with Johnson captioning it, "I'm so thankful for my family and the new addition."

Dustin Johnson is obviously talented on the golf course, and he shared his skills with his son, Tatum Johnson, in 2017, when he posted a photo of him teaching Tatum how to swing a golf club on Instagram. The precious snap left us all audibly "aww"ing. It also seems that having fun and nurturing the kids in the family goes all the way to the top. Despite their family being famous, Wayne Gretzky told Kind Magazine, "We don't want them to be raised differently."

On April 23, 2022, Paulina Gretzky and Dustin Johnson tied the knot after being engaged for almost a decade. Their two sons, Tatum and River, were by their sides, which led to some precious moments of the family dressed up for the wedding. In an Instagram post, Gretzky shared her two children hugging her and Johnson as they kissed. Her iconic wedding dress designer, Vera Wang, commented, "Heavenly wedding. One of my faves!!!!!
