'80s Dukes Of Hazzard Star Catherine Bach Is Still A Bombshell Today
"The Dukes of Hazzard" was one of television's hottest hits in the late '70s and '80s, and that was in part thanks to Catherine Bach, who played the iconic role of Daisy Duke. After all, it's rare for an actor to get a style of clothing named after their character. Looking back on photos of Bach from the show, it's easy to see why she was a fan favorite — the actor is a total bombshell. Even though "The Dukes of Hazzard" has long run its course, we always wonder what stars from that era, like Bach, are up to now. '80s actor Mia Sara has aged like fine wine since her "Ferris Bueller's Day Off" era, and Morgan Fairchild is another '80s star who looks very different now.
Spoiler alert: Bach still brings bombshell energy just like she did back in the day. In a recent photo from June 2026, posted by her friend Patrick Foley, Bach (pictured on the left) looks fantastic. Her gorgeous wavy hair still has the same bounce as when she was playing Daisy Duke, and her skin is positively glowing. Sadly, the actor has been dealing with some health issues, suffering an embolism in October of 2025, but based on her upbeat social media content, Bach seems to be in great spirits.
Catherine Bach was almost considered *too* much of a bombshell prior to the show
While it's impossible to imagine "The Dukes of Hazzard" without Catherine Bach, the actor opened up to Fox News in 2019 about how, earlier in her career, her appearance actually made it harder for her to land a steady job in television. "It's funny because ... my agency had fired me and I hadn't gone out in an interview for two years," she said. "According to them, I was too exotic-looking. I was told, 'We're never going to make money off you. Aside from doing a movie here and there, we don't see a television series in your future.'" Though "The Dukes of Hazzard" producers were pushing for a Dolly Parton type to play Daisy Duke, Bach ultimately snagged the role based on her work in some TV movies and a one-woman play she did.
We're glad Bach didn't let obstacles (or words) like "too exotic looking" get her down. She admitted later in the interview that she even had a hand in creating Daisy's iconic bombshell wardrobe, too. "...I got my jean shorts that I could never get even, with cowboy boots and a little top. ... They loved it," she added.
