'This Is What My Body Is': Mandy Moore's Candid Reflection On Having Kids Close Together
When it comes to motherhood, Mandy Moore isn't afraid to bare it all. The "This is Us" actor regularly shares her candid thoughts on motherhood — the good, the bad, and the ugly. "You wake up with endless gratitude every day, but that doesn't take away from the fact that it is hard work," she told People in 2023. "And the lack of sleep is something that is a constant and makes everything feel all the more challenging." Since she clearly feels constantly tired, it isn't surprising that Mandy Moore's beauty trick can provide an instant pick-me-up. It's quick and efficient.
For Moore and husband Taylor Goldsmith, who married in 2018, the journey from two to five happened rather quickly. The pair welcomed their first child, August "Gus" in 2021, immediately followed by Oscar "Ozzie" in 2022. Moore and Goldsmith then tried one unsuccessful round of in vitro fertilization (IVF) in hopes of freezing eggs for future use before getting pregnant naturally with daughter Louise "Lou," born in 2024.
In a June 2026 appearance on the "Not Skinny But Not Fat" podcast, Moore revealed the mental and physical challenges of having three children so close together. "Emotionally I feel like I'm still recovering ... I do feel lucky that ... pregnancy was very easy for me. I didn't suffer from any sort of postpartum symptoms and stuff, so I feel like I had a relatively easy journey all things considered," she said.
Mandy Moore gets real about her postpartum body
Like Ashley Graham, who is still working to get to know her new body after having kids, Mandy Moore is coming to terms with the physical and mental aspects of her postpartum experience. The singer often shares snaps of this journey in her Instagram Stories, as she did in a clip on July 16, 2026. "After 3 kids in 3 1/2 years, this is what my body is ... Loose skin and all," Moore wrote over a candid video of her in front of the mirror. In another clip immediately following that story, she shared a glimpse of her postpartum fitness journey. "Also I'm super awkward and not a natural athlete but I'm committed to getting stronger for the long run," Moore wrote over a video of her doing a pull-up with her trainer at the gym (via E! News).
Being active with her family of five is important to Moore, who shared a picture of her crew enjoying a beach vacation at Punta Mita, Mexico in 2025. Moore told Prevention in 2023 that she makes an effort to incorporate exercise into her schedule at least a couple of times each week, whether she's hiking, biking on her Peloton, strength training, or going through high-intensity interval training (HIIT) workouts.
While she strives to stick to healthier snacks such as yogurt, almonds, dried fruit, and green juices, Moore also told the outlet that when it comes to her diet, "life is all about balance," and she won't turn down a chocolate chip cookie or a glass of wine. Cheers to keeping it real, Mandy! Her honest journey through motherhood is a central element of Mandy Moore's complete transformation, and we love to see it.
