Debbie Reynolds' Granddaughter Is The Spitting Image Of The Old Hollywood Star

There was something about '50s and '60s actors that made them so glamorous, both on and off screen. Along with other Old Hollywood stars, like Audrey Hepburn (whose iconic bangs have seen a resurgence in popularity), fans love to reminisce about the iconic Debbie Reynolds. Known best for her roles in "Singin' in the Rain" and "The Unsinkable Molly Brown," the late actor left a long legacy behind. Many may not know that she's Carrie Fisher's mom, and, likewise, that Billie Lourd is the late "Star Wars" actor's daughter. The apple certainly didn't fall too far from the tree, and a side-by-side photo shows Lourd bears a striking resemblance to her grandmother.

A vintage pic of Reynolds in the '50s shows her with gorgeous buttercream blond hair (a warmer alternative to platinum) styled with short, curly bangs. Her makeup is on the natural side save for a bright pop of red lipstick. Looking at a current photo of Lourd, she shares the same deep-set eyes as her grandmother and a matching flirty smile. With her caramel macchiato hair (the perfect brunette shade for winter) styled in voluminous curls, the two could have easily been twins. Lourd had a close bond with Reynolds, and it's only natural that she'd pull references from her grandmother's style to channel the fashion of the bygone era.

Not everyone gets to grow up with legendary icon Debbie Reynolds as their grandmother — especially someone with such impeccable style. In an interview with Turner Classic Movies, Billie Lourd, while wearing a glittery dark gray two-piece suit, said, "If you haven't noticed by my outfit, I am deeply inspired by my grandma. I wear so much glitter, it's actually irritating to some. She had iconic style. She loved a Bob Mackie suit. She loved a slit up to here. I hope to be half as stylish as her."

Along with glittery fashion, Reynolds inspired Lourd to be an actor, despite her attempts to discourage her granddaughter from the craft by reading aloud from old diaries. On "Late Night with Seth Meyers," the "American Horror Story" star recalled, "I started reading them, and they're all in second person, and they are somewhere along the lines of 'You're sitting in the makeup chair. It's 5 in the morning, they've pulled out all your eyebrows, and you have no eyelashes left. Your hair is a shell of itself, and all you wanted to be was a gym teacher.'" The diaries obviously didn't dissuade her from acting, and she's definitely on her way to filling some big, sparkly shoes!
