8 Jenny Marrs Outfits That Missed The Mark

If you regularly watch HGTV, then you might be familiar with "Fixer to Fabulous" and its stars Jenny and Dave Marrs. Since 2019, the couple has been renovating homes in and around the town of Bentonville, Arkansas. With five kids and a job that requires her to sometimes get down and dirty, and in the trenches of hands-on renovation, Jenny Marrs' outfits are almost always super casual. But that doesn't mean that she hasn't missed the mark with some of her looks. After all, there's a time and a place for everything.

Jenny Marrs, who turned 47 in 2026, is at the tail end of Generation X, meaning she's not only still wearing trends that younger generations just don't understand, but stuff she was also probably wearing in high school and college too. In fact, in March 2025, Jenny was subjected to online criticism about her sometimes-questionable style, and she took to Instagram to share how hurtful the experience was. After fans came to her defense, Jenny again went on Instagram to post her gratitude and appreciation of their support.

While we're not here to cause more pain, Jenny is a product of her generation — as we all are — and Gen-Xers have struggled to shake the trends of their youth. But for what it's worth, The New York Times published a piece entitled, "Gen-Zers Dress Like They've Never Worn Clothes Before," so no generation's fashion sense is perfect. With a bit of tailoring and an eye for something more contemporary, here are some of Jenny's outfits that could have been a bit better.

In June 2023, Jenny Marrs, along with her husband Dave Marrs and their son Luke, attended the "Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse" panel and screening during the 9th annual Bentonville Film Festival. While it may not have been a world premiere, it's easy to see Jenny is underdressed. Ankle-length frayed black jeans, a baggy tee-shirt, and an oversized cardigan that's delivering some frumpy energy is missing the mark here. To top it off, Jenny is wearing Birkenstock sandals, taking what's already casual to extra casual heights.

In March 2026, Jenny Marrs wore this ill-fitting blouse with jeans, and it wasn't doing her any favors. For starters, the design has no shape, making it look like a maternity top or maybe even a toddler's dress. Secondly, the colorblocking that's happening here isn't fun, as the muted hues are a bit boring. Although there's a way to embrace colorblockng in your outfits, this isn't it. With Jenny's fair complexion and undertones, she almost looks like she's one with the shirt, and that's never what we're going for. 

To honor their 20^th wedding anniversary, Jenny and Dave Marrs renewed their wedding vows. Although Dave wore jeans and a baseball cap for the ceremony, which seems to be his usual attire, one would think Jenny would have elevated her look a bit more. While the dress is lovely, it's giving more of a walk on the beach vibe. Also, with her fair coloring, Jenny isn't wearing one of the best colors for blonds in any season. Cobalt or denim blue would have been far more complementary.

Although we've seen plenty of early aughts and '90s fashion trends come back into style, some looks need to be left in the past. A perfect example of what should have been forgotten is bootcut jeans paired with knee-length cardigan sweaters — the exact outfit Jenny Marrs wore at the April 2025 opening of her store Marrs on Main. Considering the 1990s were also known for colorful, fitted cardigans, that's an article of clothing that would have looked better with the bootcut jeans.

While on the set of HGTV in April 2023, Jenny Marrs stopped to pose for a photo with her husband Dave Marrs and one of the locals in Fort Morgan, Colorado. While the men in the pic are dressed casually, it seems Jenny was going for a more put-together look, but it didn't pay off. Although the asymmetrical buttons on this sienna shirt make for a cute detail, it's too big for Jenny, especially in the sleeves. It also desperately needs to be ironed or steamed.

In August 2017, Jenny Marrs attended a wedding at Mayowood Stone Barn in Rochester, Minnesota. Although we didn't see the invitation and whether or not it had an attire requirement, this dress is still too casual — even if the event was a daytime wedding. This dark mauve, off-the-shoulder dress with too many ruffles is just too darn causal. Granted, the venue was a barn in Minnesota, but that doesn't mean Jenny couldn't have taken this look up a few notches.

When Jenny Marrs was on the set of HGTV in October 2019, her jeans could have really used some proper tailoring, because no pants — jeans or otherwise — should ever drag on the ground. Not only does it look sloppy and like you don't care about your outfit, but it's also a quick and easy way to destroy the hem, resulting in needing to buy a new pair. We'll refrain from mentioning Jenny's outdated knee-length cardigan, because we already went there. 

Whether you watch "Fixer to Fabulous" regularly or just spent an hour scrolling through Jenny Marrs' Instagram, it's pretty evident that she loves skinny jeans. Which, of course, makes sense because skinny jeans were all the rage for younger Gen Xers and elder millennials. Of all the jean styles that women over 40 should avoid wearing, skinny jeans are at the top of the list. Of course, we're all for wearing what makes you feel good, but skinnies have definitely fallen out of fashion in recent years.
