The Worst-Dressed Stars At The Practical Magic 2 Premiere

The "Practical Magic 2" premiere brought out plenty of stars, but few of the red carpet looks had us spellbound. With Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman enchanting us with their ethereal dresses, we had high hopes for the looks other attendees would serve. Unfortunately, we were sorely disappointed. One would think that the obvious witchy theme would make it easy for celebs to put good looks together — but we were wrong. Some stars wore outfits that were totally off theme — which would have been forgivable if the outfits had been at least gorgeous. Worst still, it wasn't just the attendees that goofed up big time.

Two of the main cast — looking at you, Maisie Williams and Joey King — seemed dedicated to specific themes across multiple outfits that just didn't work, no matter how hard they tried. And others were so carried away with the make-believe aspect of it all that they forgot to consider the realistic fashion guidelines that make outfits visually appealing. From celebs that tried too hard to those that didn't at all, the worst-dressed stars at the "Practical Magic 2" premiere need to seriously rethink their fashion choices.

If there were ever a low point of Joey King's style transformation, this would be it. The hair is glorious, the dress flows ethereally, and the color is phenomenal on her skin tone. This is why we're absolutely steamed that the "Bullet Train" actor ruined this outfit by making it sheer underneath. Additionally, the Miu Miu tag on the panties is incredibly distracting. We love a good sheer moment, but some fabrics and styles are meant to give cottage-core, and forcing a boudoir element ruins everything.

Is this leather? Hand-painted? Or just fabric with a bad pattern? It's hard to tell. What we do know is Maisie Williams' outfit looks old and worn without giving vintage. It's poorly fitted and makes her look more like a girl playing dress-up than a celeb at a high-brow event. It's also very off-theme and doesn't seem like a good choice for "Practical Magic 2." Additionally, Williams' hair isn't exactly complementary to her face shape. It shows why it's important to research the most flattering hairstyles if you have a round face.

It's a sad day for fashion when the face slays, but the outfit absolutely bombs, and this was worse because it was also off-theme. Drag Queen Bimini Bon-Boulash look had a whole lot going on: netting, lace, straps, leather — and none of it is cohesive or even related to magic. Plus, the sheer and matte leather combo in one outfit just isn't working. There's also a problem up-top. While the hair frames her face beautifully, the pillbox styling takes away several points.

T.V. presenter Harriet Rose certainly put a lot of witchy thoughts into her outfit. The color is on theme, and the corset and pants, while basic, get a pass from us. What ruins the look is the cloak that combines netting and fur. The mix gives an odd vibe and it looks like spider webbing in an eerie, not pleasing, way. We appreciate the commitment to the theme, but a better cloak could have had the same effect and still looked aesthetic. On the bright side, her hair looks like a witch's potion exploded in it, and somehow, we're not mad about it. Rose's stylist has the right idea, but they definitely need a refresher course on how to hone the enchanting witchcore aesthetic.

Somehow, this Maisie Williams' outfit manages to have a lot going on and nothing going on at the same time. There are buttons on the side that are almost impossible to see; the skirt is strangely extravagant, and the fabric swallows her and washes her out. We're also not impressed with her accessory choices, and the sleeves are a confusing feature. This dress is the same Sandra Bullock wore to the 2006 premiere of "Infamous," but Williams didn't wear it better. It's clear that the stylist was going for an asymmetrical look, but they unfortunately ended up giving a lopsided look instead. 

Joey King is in her sheer era, and we wish she'd stop. Her second outfit at the "Practical Magic 2" premiere looked like she wrapped herself in netting, threw ruffles across her chest, and hoped we wouldn't notice. Interestingly, the ensemble is a two-piece but looks like a shapeless straight dress, thanks to poor styling choices. There was also barely any accessorizing going on, save for the three rings on her fingers. King is undoubtedly pretty, but her styling choices were absolutely not.
