Even decades after "Little House on the Prairie" ended, we love that the stars of the show remained close. You may remember Miss Beadle from "Little House on the Prairie" (here's what actor Charlotte Stewart looks like now) and Baby Grace Ingalls, but did you know that, despite the age gap between the two, they have the sweetest friendship in real life? Stewart and Grace Ingalls actor, Wendi Lou Turnbaugh, shared the story of how they formed an unlikely bond on the official "Little House on the Prairie" Instagram account in October 2025.

Stewart turned 85 in 2026 and Turnbaugh turned 49. Despite the fact that the two didn't share any scenes together, they still became the best of friends. "When Wendi came on the show, I wasn't on the show anymore," Stewart said. "We became friends later when the 'Little House' cast went on the road, and we became roommates." Through that shared experience, the two connected and are still going strong. "It's been such a blessing to have you in my life," Turnbaugh said. Stewart also mentioned that despite living far away from one another, they still make the effort to stay in touch.

Wendi Lou Turnbaugh said Charlotte Stewart reminds her of her grandmother

It's so great to see what the leading ladies of "Little House on the Prairie" look like now. It's also heartwarming that so many of the stars formed lasting friendships long after the show. "Little House on the Prairie" stars Melissa Sue Anderson and Melissa Gilbert also bonded long after the show, but we just can't get over how cute it is that despite Wendi Lou Turnbaugh and Charlotte Stewart's difference in age, they're two peas in a pod. A look at Turnbaugh's Instagram revealed plenty of adorable shots of the two together over the years, long after the show ended.

Turnbaugh also shared a post on her blog in 2019 that detailed a bit more about the formation of their friendship as it was happening in real time. "After almost fifteen years of reunions and cast appearances, we are finally getting to know each other," she shared. "Charlotte is an amazing storyteller, and boy does she have stories. Sipping white wine on the patio, curling up on her bed sharing pictures, and supporting each other throughout the weekend cemented our growing friendship." The time that the two spent together also made Turnbaugh think of another special person in her life. "Charlotte reminds me of my grandmother," she continued. "Her commanding personality, yet small stature bring back wonderful memories of my Grandma Lou." She even added that she feels her grandmother's presence every time she's around Stewart — so sweet!
