Megan Fox's 'Cowgirl Bob' Is Yet Another Stunning Short Hair Trend For 2024

While we can't exactly clone ourselves to look like Megan Fox, we can certainly copy her recent hairstyle in hopes of channeling some of that fierceness and confidence she exudes so well. The Hollywood star recently debuted a stunning bob haircut, which was quickly dubbed the "cowgirl bob," and despite its chic appearance, it's actually very low-maintenance. "The cowgirl cut is rough and ready — a little imperfect but beautiful, so that's where the name came from," hairstylist Luke Hersheson — who came up with the name for the original version of this style, which blended together a shag and a lob — told Glamour.

Fox's hairstylist Dimitris Giannetos opened up to PopSugar about his take on the updated cut after sharing a selfie taken by the actor to his Instagram. He revealed that it's the perfect look for spring and summer. "Coquette beauty is in right now and the cowgirl bob is like you got that perfect, flirty chop, then washed your hair or were sweating, and then let it air dry," Giannetos said. Now, if you're still unsure whether this cut is a good choice for you, let us help you make up your mind!

The cowgirl bob is all about messy layers

The one thing that every cowgirl bob has in common is its messy layers. Of course, you can go as subtle or as wild with them as you like, but the end result always needs to be a little disheveled and imperfect. And because of this, the cowgirl bob is a great choice for those who adore the idea of a chic French bob but just aren't up for daily styling. With the cowgirl bob, all you really need to do is let it do its own thing.

If bangs scare you, opt for ultra-skinny ones — the vibe will be the same

While bangs are non-negotiable for the cowgirl bob, there is some leeway when it comes to their thickness. If chunky and thick bangs scare you, a '90s skinny fringe is the way to go. Even though this type of bang is much thinner and wispier, the end effect will be similar — as long as you ensure they're not perfectly styled and allow them to have some natural texture.

The cowgirl bob looks great on textured hair

If you are a curly-haired girl, don't worry — you don't have to skip out on this trend. In fact, a cowgirl bob looks stunning on any type of texture, whether it's subtle loose waves or ultra-tight and super curly tresses. Of course, the only thing to keep in mind is the length you cut it to when wet, as curly hair shrinks when it dries.

And if you have straight hair, just add some texture spray for that messy look

Curls and waves look wonderful with the cowgirl bob, but straight hair works just as well. To achieve some of that casual messiness — especially if your hair tends to fall very straight and flat — spray some texturizing and/or volumizing spray on it, and shake it up with your hands. The end result should give you that slightly tousled, bedhead look but in a very effortlessly cool way.

The cowgirl bob looks amazing even when it grows out

The best part about a cowgirl haircut is the fact that it grows out beautifully without the need for additional trimming. Of course, if you plan to keep the bangs, those will need to be shortened after a bit, but the bob itself will look stunning at any length, even when it starts grazing your shoulders.
