7 Celebs Who Have Managed To Make Bermuda Shorts Look Chic

Bermuda shorts seem to come in and out of style every other summer. While below-the-knee "dad shorts" were spring 2023's hottest shorts trend, just one year later, Bermuda shorts were officially outdated once more. When it comes to divisive clothing trends like Bermuda shorts, the final verdict often boils down to this: wear them if you like them, avoid them if you don't. It seems that many celebrities are fans; stars like Zendaya, Bella Hadid, and Ayo Edebiri have stepped out in Bermuda shorts over the past few years. 

Many think of Bermuda shorts as "dad shorts" because of their long hemline and boxy, oversized fit. While they can be, at times, ill-fitting and a little too casual (no offense meant to Adam Sandler, Hollywood's biggest "dad shorts" die-hard), several celebs have managed to put a chic spin on summertime's cheugy-est menswear trend. From well-tailored suits to stylish casual looks, these women make Bermuda shorts look high-fashion (and have convinced us that dad shorts do belong in our warm weather wardrobes). 

While attending the 2026 Cannes Film Festival, Eva Longoria was spotted leaving the Hôtel Martinez in a chic casual outfit. The "Desperate Housewives" star is one of many celebs to jump on the Bermuda shorts trend, pairing tailored below-the-knee shorts with a cropped white turtleneck sweater. 

Longoria dressed down the look with black heeled sandals, a small black handbag, and dark sunglasses. The actor showed that "dad shorts" have the potential to be absolutely fabulous for women of all ages.

Supermodel Bella Hadid is often steps ahead of the trend cycle; even though Bermuda shorts have come in and out of style over the past few years, Hadid was one of the first celebrities to go viral for wearing dad shorts in 2022. 

While off-duty in New York during Fashion Week, Hadid was photographed in creamy Bermudas, a white tank, black button-down shirt, and tall black boots. She cleverly used color blocking to elevate her look, sandwiching the khaki shorts between black in her boots and top.

Academy Award-winning actor Regina King looked ultra polished at Paris Fashion Week in 2021. King attended the Louis Vuitton show in a black and white outfit; she wore black Bermuda shorts, a black and white striped blouse, a white blazer with black lapels, and black ankle boots — a neutral color palette that she made more interesting with a pop of color in the form of an orange purse. 

King showed that shorts can be appropriate for formal occasions, a sentiment shared by a few others who sported them in more upscale environments.

Simone Ashley is one of the most stylish young actors in Hollywood today. After all, the "Bridgerton" alum recently stood out with her fashion win in contrast to the worst-dressed stars at "The Devil Wears Prada 2" premiere. 

While out in Manhattan in 2024, Ashley donned a very retro double denim ensemble that we still adore. For this casual daytime look, she wore denim Bermuda shorts and an oversized denim bomber jacket. Long jean shorts (or "jorts") aren't cringe anymore — they're a versatile piece that can have a place in your closet this summer.

She wore gray Bermuda shorts, a matching oversized blazer, and a partially-buttoned white blouse with long, ruffled sleeves that extended out from under the cuffs of her jacket. 

Mila Kunis has had a stunning style transformation throughout her career. The actor has proved that she is capable of looking incredibly chic, and the dark brown ensemble she wore to Netflix's Tudum Live Event in 2025 is one excellent example.
