Cindy Crawford's Daughter & Richard Gere's Son Give Us '90s Flashbacks In Pic Together

Picture this: it's 1992, grunge rock is peaking, everybody is hanging out at the mall, and supermodel Cindy Crawford is still married to Hollywood star Richard Gere. It is exactly that nostalgic feeling that photos of Kaia Gerber and Homer Gere have evoked among many, forcing them to do a double-take to ensure they weren't looking at their famous parents. For those unaware, Crawford and Gere tied the knot in 1991 after they began dating in the late '80s. But by 1995, the two called it quits. And more than three decades later, their children are their doppelgangers.

As the daughter of Cindy Crawford and her husband, businessman Rande Gerber, model and actor Kaia Gerber had been in the spotlight from a young age. And the older she grew, the more evident it became that she was not only among the celebrity kids who inherited their famous parents' style, but that Kaia actually looked like the spitting image of her stunning mother. In fact, all the times Kaia Gerber channeled her mom Cindy Crawford's iconic style only showcase that the apple doesn't fall far from the tree. In this case, it's as close to the tree as it can be. Similarly, Richard Gere and actor Carey Lowell's son, Homer Gere, reminds us so much of his father. And when Kaia and Homer got cast in the FX series "The Shards," it's safe to say that many were instantly reminded of their famous parents' relationship.

Speaking to E! News, Homer Gere shared that he and Kaia, "hadn't met before shooting," but since they met, their friendship has grown. "We just became friends as coworkers before we started working and she's become a really close friend. It's been lovely working with her." Similarly, Kaia Gerber only had nice things to say about the son of her mom's ex. "It was so lovely to work with him. He's so wonderful. He's so funny. He makes me laugh so hard," she said.

On the "WTF with Marc Maron" podcast in 2016, Cindy Crawford revealed that she and Gere didn't work out in the '90s because their relationship wasn't based on friendship. "We were a lot of other things, but I don't know if we were ever friends — like peers, because I was young, and he was Richard Gere. And then, as I started kind of growing up and growing into myself — it's hard to change the nature of a relationship once you're already in it." The supermodel added that she was very young at the time, as she married Richard when she was 25 and he was 41.

Crawford found happiness in the late '90s with Rande Gerber, whom she has been happily married to for almost 30 years. In fact, Cindy Crawford and Rande Gerber have grown together through their marriage, and the supermodel credits their longevity to their initial friendship. "I think why Rande and I really work is that we were friends first," she shared. Gere, on the other hand, separated from his second wife, Carey Lowell, in the early 2010s and married publicist Alejandra Silva in 2018.
