Welcome to high society. It's a world of perfectly rouged lips, an effortless blend of classic American and feminine style, and an obvious refinement that speaks volumes. It's St. John's fall 2012 collection and includes 30 looks for the true sophisticate. A stunning Kate Winslet — the face of St. John's current campaign — sat front row as creative director George Sharp's elegant looks were sent down a center aisle at the Upper East Side's Ukrainian Institute of America in New York on Friday. Color blocking and fur (both real and faux) were central elements of the collection with vibrant scarlet accents and accessories leading the way. Shearling handbags from Liddie Holt for Holt Harrison complemented a few looks, while an orchestral version of Nirvana's "Smells Like Teen Spirit" weaved in and out of the DJ's master mix. St. John's mix of opulent textures and prints showcased the art of high class style: red trim on an asymmetrical cashmere sweater, a faux leopard print top, red wide-legged pants, and were prime examples of Sharp's bold and balanced styling.
