The Women’s Conference: Night at the Village
Last night, we hobnobbed with Maria Shriver, Jessica Simpson, Paula Deen, Giada de Laurentiis, Cat Coora, and 10,000 other inspiring women at Night at the Village, the pre-event to the 2010 Women's Conference. The Long Beach Convention Center was transformed into a 160,000 square-foot women's village featuring amazing authors, chefs, speakers, shopping, technology, and food.
“Night at The Village was created for you to meet, mix, and mingle with other amazing women,” said Maria Shriver. “It's a vibrant and dynamic place of empowerment and inspiration — where women can be connected to important information, products, services and volunteering opportunities that will empower them to be 'Architects of Change' in their own lives, communities and around the world.”
When we weren't shopping for fabulous goodies, we were listening to Jessica Simpson talk about her take on beauty and Paula Deen speak about rising above her setbacks, and getting cooking and nutrition lessons from The Biggest Loser's Bob Harper. Caroline Kennedy, Deepak Chopra, and other authors were there signing copies of their books.
There was a mini salon, sponsored by Target, providing hair and makeup touch ups, and a Style Network lounge offering manicures, massages, and eye-lash extensions. We loved taking a break for a 15 minute yoga class in the Sanctuary studio. And, of course, we got a big kick out of the pretty-in-pink Barbie booth, which highlighted the iconic doll's many careers.
Stay tuned for more coverage from the 2010 Women's Conference.
