Amy Solovay has extensive experience working in the textile industry; the diverse job titles she has held range from knit designer to director of design. She is a former instructor at California Design College, where she taught two courses: Surface Design and Trends and Concepts in Apparel Marketing. Earlier in her career, she worked as a sales associate for a popular apparel retailer and completed Nine West’s management trainee program. She started her own website in 2005 and went full-time with freelance writing in 2009; since then, she has created content for a variety of enterprise brands and digital marketing agencies. She joined Static Media in 2023 as a features writer for Glam.
Education
Amy holds a bachelor’s degree in mathematics from Sweet Briar College; she also earned a degree in textile design from the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising in Los Angeles (FIDM LA). These degrees help her communicate her expertise and back her articles with firsthand experience.
